My goals for 2009

So here I thought I’d write a little bit about what my goals for next year will be. It’s almost the turn of a new year and while I was doing my “homework” this morning I realized that I have quite a few things on my goal list. So I’m gonna take a second to jot these things down. I have a lot of great friends and family who encourage and inspire me along the way, so thanks guys for keeping me doing what I love to do! Well first and foremost, I must say that God will always be number one on any step I take with my business. Without him, I wouldn’t have gotten this far. But I do believe that it is God’s will for me to be successful at what I’m so passionate about. So here goes: My list for 2009

I will purchase a new camera, everyone needs a backup, right?

I recently broke one of my lenses, so my goal for next year is to have 2 more lenses in my shoot sac (Optimistically the Canon 70-200 2.8 and possibly a macro, hmm, maybe a fisheye…we’ll see)

I WILL have a new blog face. It’s time to be a big girl and upgrade

I will hire my own personal CPA….all this tax stuff gets to be VERY confusing

I would love to have and NEED a full time assistant by the end of next year.

I want to learn a few new photography techniques and more about off camera lighting.

I want to photograph clients who love MY style and not conform my work to their vision. Photography is an art.

My goal is to have 2 weddings a month for the year 2010. Next year I already have 12 on the calendar, so I’m hoping this one won’t be so tough

Okay, yup these are my goals for next year. Some will probably happen quicker than others, but it’s all a journey right? With God and my amazing friends and family this IS possible!!

I do!

I had the extreme pleasure of photographing Casey and Amy’s wedding. I met Amy on myspace where I meet a lot of my clients, but instantly I hit it off with her. As I’ve said in previous posts, I put my my business in the hands of God and what does he do? He blesses me with people like her! She and her mother were nothing but sweethearts from day one!! Here’s the series of images as the day went:

And this one I just love. I love the raw emotions that come with weddings. In my opinion, this is just BEAUTIFUL!!!

This cake was amazing. It was so beautiful and elegant, not to mention it tasted YUMMY!!! It was done by A Piece of Cake in Lake Charles.

This is Amy’s little boy Brady. He stepped in to get his little shoes tied. He is soooooo stinkin cute!!!

Well these two are just adorable.  David is my brother in law’s brother and this is his beautiful fiance Megan.  They were up for anything and not really into the traditional stuff which is RIGHT up my alley!  Take a look and leave some love!

Oliver Kids

This family right here is one of my favoritest families of all times.  Miranda and I have been best friends for a loooooong time.  Her kids are some of the prettiest little people, like EVER….so here are just a FEW of the pics I took of them last week.  Little Caleb was not very much interested, but Kylie…..well…..see for yourself the result of hers.

I will be photographing Tommy & Erica’s wedding this coming December.  Erica is a good friend and I used to babysit her little boy, so we go back a little bit.  Their family is absolutely adorable.  We decided to do their family shots and engagement on the same day.  I think all turned out beautifully.

Well this is my cousin Laura and her wonderful fiance Derek.  I was sooo honored when Laura asked me to photograph their big day!!!  She is SOOOO gorgeous so I was excited at the chance to showcase just that.  I hope you enjoy the pics from our day!

So, I had a session today that was so much fun.  These two are my next door neighbors.  Heather pulled her dress out of preservation just to take these pictures!!!  So I hope you guys enjoy them, they are one GREAT couple!

I hate when this happens

Okay, yesterday I had a bridal session with what HAD to be the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen.  Seriously, I hate when I can’t post images this fantabulous right away!!  BUT once you’ll see them (Nov.16th because I’ll post them AS SOON AS I CAN ) you’ll know why.  Her fiance hasn’t seen the dress yet or how she looks in it and trust me, It’s worth the wait.  SO for now, this is a teaser…….

These shoes ROCK!!!  This should tell you alot about this girls personality.  She was up for anything so we got some AWESOME shots!!!  Thanks Amy and Mrs Tamie and Tori too.

Ta Da!!!! Introducing Luke Brian

So see, I told you, I’d get his picture if it was the death of me    I am only done editing a few, but couldn’t wait to get back into the swing of things and start posting again, so I’m gonna give you guys a little sneaky peaky of what I did today!  I just love my nephew to pieces and he couldn’t belong to a better set of parents.  This little boy is truly lucky to have landed the family he did, because my sister is one of the greatest people you’ll ever meet!!  I hope you enjoy them, Love you guys and congrats and thanks for your new bundle of joy!!

And I caught this little half grin and thought it was so precious.  Of course, right after I shot it, the flash woke him up.
